What a disappointment this was. The story was hard to get into, and I nearly put it down after the first 50 pages. I only kept going because I felt an obligation to read this one, after having read the other 4 books in the series, even though book 4 wasn’t that great either.

I didn’t care for the author’s use of just haikus over several pages, the extended passage (pages and pages and pages worth) of just dialog, the dream sequences. It all seemed so pretentious. I just wanted a story that was as good as the first 3 books in the Jessica Darling series. This was not it.
